How to treat intercostal neuritis
Disease description:
I previously experienced a trauma, and recently I've been feeling discomfort around my ribs. After a hospital examination, I was diagnosed with intercostal neuralgia. May I ask how this condition should be treated?
Intercostal neuralgia can be treated with medications and physical therapy. For patients with nerve involvement, neurotrophic drugs such as vitamin B and methylcobalamin may be taken under a doctor's guidance. If pain occurs, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen or diclofenac sodium may be taken as prescribed to relieve symptoms. Physical treatments such as infrared radiation can also be used. Patients are advised to seek medical attention at a hospital and receive treatment measures after a doctor evaluates their condition.
