What causes lymph node swelling in chronic pharyngitis?
Disease description:
I have chronic pharyngitis and have developed swollen lymph nodes. I would like to know what causes lymph node enlargement in chronic pharyngitis.
Lymph node enlargement in chronic pharyngitis may result from obstruction-induced swelling. It usually does not require specific treatment; managing the chronic pharyngitis itself is sufficient. This is part of the process of treating chronic inflammation. During episodes, some individuals may experience enlarged lymph nodes in the drainage area, while in others, the lymph nodes shrink after the inflammation subsides. In some cases, due to persistent stimulation from chronic inflammation, lymph node enlargement may continue without resolution.
