The difference between uterine cysts and polycystic ovaries
Disease description:
Today I heard that a friend of mine was diagnosed with a uterine cyst. When I went for my gynecological checkup today, I found out that I have polycystic ovaries. I'd like to ask—what's the difference between a uterine cyst and polycystic ovaries?
Uterine cysts usually refer to cervical cysts. The differences between cervical cysts and polycystic ovaries are as follows: 1. Cervical cysts are generally small in size and can occur at the internal or external os of the cervix, whereas polycystic ovaries typically develop in the ovarian region. 2. Cervical cysts usually do not cause contact bleeding or abnormal vaginal discharge; in contrast, polycystic ovaries commonly present symptoms such as infertility, menstrual disorders, obesity, and hirsutism.
