What should be done if a girl experiences early development?
Disease description:
The child's breasts have started developing, body hair is growing, and she is overweight—she's only a little over 7 years old. What should be done if a girl shows signs of early puberty?
Premature development in girls is associated with excessive nutrition and genetic factors, which may lead to precocious puberty. Timely medical evaluation is necessary, followed by appropriate treatment based on the underlying cause. If caused by excessive nutrition, dietary adjustments should be made: avoid giving children off-season vegetables, reduce intake of sweets and fried foods, and prohibit foods high in hormones, such as catfish or duck necks. If symptoms of precocious puberty appear, proper medication should be administered under medical guidance. Commonly used drugs include hydrocortisone acetate tablets, which can suppress gonadal development.
