Signs and Symptoms of Infant Developmental Delay
Disease description:
My friend's child is now seven months old, and seems to be significantly behind other infants of the same age in many aspects, which appears somewhat abnormal. They suspect the baby may have developmental delay. What are the signs and symptoms of developmental delay in infants?
Signs of infant developmental delay may include poor language comprehension compared to peers, inability to recognize familiar people, lack of fear toward strangers, failure to imitate adult actions, dull facial expressions, frequent silly smiling, and slow responsiveness to the external environment. Additionally, affected infants may exhibit shorter stature, low body weight, and physical frailty. They may also show delays in motor milestones such as sitting, crawling, and standing, along with poor coordination and limited limb mobility.
