Disease description:

My child is two years old now. He doesn't like to talk, and when he does speak, it's usually only one or two words. I can't understand what he's saying. A friend mentioned it might be a language delay. What is the definition and clinical presentation of language development delay?

Dr. Ma Yan
Language developmental delay refers to a condition in which a child's language expression and comprehension abilities are significantly behind those of peers, failing to reach normal developmental milestones. It primarily results in the child being unable to form coherent speech during communication, and being unable to express their thoughts accurately through language. When interacting with others, the child may exhibit disorganized thinking, fail to understand others' speech, or follow instructions properly.
