I'm now almost five months pregnant and have recently started feeling fetal movements. I'd like to ask, what does fetal movement feel like?

Fetal movement is usually the sensation caused by the fetus moving inside the uterus and stimulating the uterine wall. Most women begin to feel fetal movements between four and five months of pregnancy. Initially, these movements are subtle and may feel like little bubbles from a fish swimming, a butterfly flapping its wings, or intestinal蠕动. Every woman's physical condition varies, so experiences of fetal movement differ. When the fetus is more active and the abdominal wall is thinner, movements are more noticeable. Conversely, if fetal activity is mild and the abdominal wall is thicker, the movements may be less apparent. At five months of gestation, the fetus is still relatively small and its movements lack a consistent pattern; therefore, it is normal for fetal movements to appear intermittently—sometimes present, sometimes absent, varying in frequency and intensity.
