Since pearly penile papules do not affect function, clinicians generally do not recommend special treatment for patients. For complete removal, cosmetic surgery can be performed, although laser ablation is commonly used nowadays, followed by topical application of depigmenting agents to reduce or eliminate the lesions. Additionally, in some patients, after circumcision the glans becomes exposed and experiences prolonged contact and friction with underwear, leading to gradual reduction or shedding of the pearly penile papules.
