What vaccines should be administered for Kawasaki disease?
Disease description:
The child has Kawasaki disease. I've never heard of this condition, but people around me say vaccines can be given, so I'd like to inquire: which vaccines are recommended for Kawasaki disease?
There is currently no vaccine for Kawasaki disease. Kawasaki disease is an autoimmune overactivation triggered by external infections and other factors, leading to inflammation of medium and small blood vessels. Although Kawasaki disease is theoretically associated with infections, the exact cause remains unclear, which is why no vaccine has been developed for it. Moreover, individuals with Kawasaki disease should not receive vaccines during the acute phase. Clinically, it is generally agreed that patients with Kawasaki disease should wait at least six months after onset before receiving other routine vaccinations.
