Iron deficiency anemia can cause peeling of the skin on the hands and feet. In iron deficiency anemia, the most common manifestation in patients is pale skin, particularly noticeable in the lips, oral mucosa, and nail beds. Patients may also experience fatigue, weakness, reduced physical activity, dizziness, visual darkening, tinnitus, gastrointestinal disturbances, and poor appetite. A minority of patients may additionally suffer from stomatitis, glossitis, atrophic gastritis, or malabsorption syndrome.
