My friend was diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia during a prenatal checkup. Is an iron level of 105 considered severe?

Dr. Zhang Lu
During pregnancy, a pregnant woman's hemoglobin level is an important indicator for determining whether she has anemia. A hemoglobin value of 105 g/L is generally considered indicative of mild anemia, while levels above 100 g/L are regarded as normal and do not constitute anemia. Iron-deficiency anemia is relatively common among women of childbearing and lactating age. For pregnant women, mild anemia can be improved through dietary adjustments. Pregnant women are advised to consume more animal livers such as pork or goose liver, which are rich in vitamin A and protein and significantly support hematopoietic function, thereby helping to alleviate symptoms of iron-deficiency anemia.
