What are the causes of alkalosis?
Disease description:
A few days ago, I went to the hospital for a health checkup. The results showed mild alkalosis, but I'm not sure what caused it. I'd like to know what are the possible causes of alkalosis?
The main cause of alkalosis is excessive exhalation of carbon dioxide, commonly seen in bronchitis and other pulmonary infections. Certain central nervous system disorders, such as brain trauma and cerebrovascular diseases, as well as intense physical exercise and shock, may also lead to respiratory alkalosis. Additionally, alkalosis can result from excessive loss of acidic substances from the body and disturbances in electrolyte balance.
