What to do for cervical spinal cord injury
Disease description:
After waking up around 8 a.m., I suddenly found myself unable to move. My spouse called 120 for me. After examination, it was diagnosed as cervical spinal cord injury. What should I do for cervical spinal cord injury?
Cervical spinal cord injury requires simple dressing and immobilization. In cases of significant blood loss, prompt basic wound dressing should be performed to avoid elevated blood pressure, which may lead to damage of the nervous system and vital organs. The medical team should appropriately immobilize the neck and transfer the patient to a medical facility equipped for proper treatment. If there is no respiratory failure, cervical collar immobilization can be used to prevent secondary injury. After cervical spine stabilization, the patient should be moved carefully using proper techniques, ensuring coordinated axial movement throughout the transfer.
