Tongue cancer can cause symptoms such as pain and ulcers. Increased saliva in the patient's mouth is the most common early sign of tongue cancer. Due to frequent nerve stimulation, teeth in patients with tongue cancer may become excessively loose and fall out easily. Restricted tongue movement, along with ulceration, pain, motor dysfunction, and general discomfort in the tongue, may occur. If secondary infection develops or the base of the tongue is involved, severe pain typically arises.
