What are the symptoms of stroke?
Disease description:
Recently, my father has been acting a bit mentally off. After going to the hospital, the doctor said he had a stroke. What are the symptoms of a stroke?
Stroke can cause symptoms such as mental disturbances and limb paralysis. Limb paralysis may present with sensory deficits on one side of the body and homonymous hemianopia, collectively known as hemiplegia. Mental symptoms including cognitive impairment, apathy, hallucinations, epileptic seizures, and transient global amnesia are associated with brain region dysfunction caused by stroke. Patients with posterior circulation infarction may experience dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and visual blackout.
