Sudden headache and nosebleeds may be caused by conditions such as sinusitis or coexisting hypertension. Nosebleeds resulting from rupture of the nasal mucosa in sinusitis can be due to inflammation within the nasal cavity, or possibly due to inflammation of the maxillary sinus communicating with the nasal mucosa. Individuals with hypertension may experience nosebleeds because high blood pressure can cause blood vessels to rupture, leading to epistaxis.
