Ischemic stroke is managed through surgery, medications, and other interventions. In the case of hemorrhagic stroke, which is caused by rupture of cerebral blood vessels, a cranial CT scan is required along with continuous blood pressure monitoring. For patients with surgical indications, such as those with large amounts of bleeding, immediate surgical intervention is necessary. Thrombolytic therapy may also be administered, along with antiplatelet agents and medications to combat atherosclerosis.
