What causes frequent nasal congestion and runny nose, and what should be done about it?
Disease description:
Recently, I've frequently felt nasal congestion and constant runny nose. What could be causing persistent nasal congestion and runny nose, and what should I do about it?
Frequent nasal congestion and runny nose may be caused by exposure to allergens such as pollen or house dust mites, leading to allergic rhinitis. Under medical guidance, antihistamines such as chlorpheniramine maleate tablets or cetirizine hydrochloride tablets can be used for treatment. Alternatively, these symptoms could also result from sinusitis, in which inflammation of the nasal mucosa leads to increased secretions. In such cases, local application of corticosteroids under medical supervision—such as triamcinolone acetonide nasal spray or mometasone furoate nasal spray—may be recommended for treatment.
