Tubal obstruction is a common cause of infertility in women. In today's society, as women face increasing pressure, the number of patients with tubal blockage is also rising. So, when is the best time to undergo surgery for blocked fallopian tubes?

Dr. Zhao Xiaodong
Tubal occlusion surgery is generally performed 3 to 4 days after menstruation ends, which is the most appropriate time. At this stage, the risk of uterine bleeding is low, surgical conditions are favorable, and the procedure avoids the woman's fertile period. Tubal occlusion is a female sterilization method, and its contraceptive effectiveness is equivalent to that of tubal ligation. Antibiotic treatment should be administered for 2–3 days postoperatively, with close monitoring of bleeding and fever. If recovery is normal, discharge can occur after 3 days. However, if there is severe pelvic adhesion or fever, antibiotic treatment may be extended, and discharge typically occurs about one week after stabilization.
