Methods for checking fallopian tube blockage
Disease description:
I suffer from infertility, but there are many causes of infertility, the most common being blocked fallopian tubes. This condition poses serious health risks to women and should be treated as soon as possible. So, what are the methods for checking blocked fallopian tubes?
Two commonly used methods for clinical evaluation of tubal obstruction are fluid infusion (tubal patency test) and hysterosalpingography. In both procedures, under sterile conditions, a catheter is inserted through the cervix into the uterine cavity, and an inflatable balloon at the catheter tip is inflated to secure its position and prevent slippage during the procedure. An anti-inflammatory, anti-adhesive fluid or iodinated contrast medium is then injected through the catheter into the uterine cavity, flowing through the tubal ostia into the fallopian tubes and ultimately into the pelvic cavity. During the fluid infusion procedure, the liquid is introduced into the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes under external pressure. For patients with unexplained infertility, laparoscopic examination is recommended to directly assess tubal patency and determine whether the fallopian tubes are open.
