What could be the reason for menstruation lasting over 10 days after a uterine evacuation?

Disease description:

I had a dilation and curettage (D&C) on the 3rd of last month, and my period started on the 3rd of this month. However, this period has been very abnormal—I'm already on the 10th day, and I'm still not finished. Why might my period continue for more than 10 days after a D&C?

Menstruation lasting more than 10 days after a uterine evacuation procedure may be caused by poor uterine contraction and incomplete uterine clearance. In such cases, it is best to go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination. If the ultrasound reveals retained material in the uterine cavity, further uterine cleaning may be required. If there is no residual tissue but the uterus is enlarged, this is likely due to inadequate uterine contraction. Treatment with medications that promote uterine contraction is recommended; oxytocin is commonly used clinically via intramuscular injection, while oral options include Yimucao dispersible tablets or Xinshenghua granules.
