What is sacroiliitis?
Disease description:
Recently, I was diagnosed with sacroiliitis. I'm very scared because I've never had this condition before and know very little about it. I'm worried it might be a very serious illness. So, what exactly is sacroiliitis?
Sacroiliitis is an inflammatory condition that can be treated by the department of arthritis, rheumatology, and immunology. This disease may occur unilaterally or bilaterally and can be associated with various causes, such as degenerative changes in the sacroiliac joint, infectious diseases, congenital structural abnormalities, and rheumatic or autoimmune disorders. The main symptoms in patients are lower back and buttock pain. Individuals with mild symptoms may experience little impact on daily life, whereas those with severe symptoms may have limited mobility in the lower back and buttocks.
