Pituitary adenoma is a common type of intracranial tumor in clinical practice. The most frequent symptoms are those caused by compression of the optic nerves, such as decreased vision or visual field defects. The visual field defects primarily affect the outer (temporal) side of both eyes. Additionally, due to tumor compression of surrounding structures and increased intracranial pressure, patients may experience symptoms such as headache and dizziness. Furthermore, excessive secretion of growth hormone can lead to hormonal symptoms in adult patients, including enlargement of the limbs, gradual growth of hands and feet, and progressively larger shoe size.
