Methods for diagnosing pituitary tumors
Disease description:
Nowadays, an increasing number of people are suffering from pituitary tumors. I would like to ask about the methods for screening pituitary tumors?
The diagnosis of pituitary tumors can be made from three aspects: clinical presentation, laboratory tests, and imaging studies, as follows:
1. Clinical presentation: Some patients may exhibit significant changes in body posture and appearance.
2. Blood tests: Hormone levels are often altered in many patients; for example, prolactin and growth hormone levels are elevated in prolactinomas.
3. Imaging studies: These primarily include CT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Large tumors can be clearly seen on CT scans, while smaller tumors can be more accurately diagnosed using MRI.
