Will uremic pericardial effusion heal on its own?
Disease description:
My father has uremia, and recently it was discovered that the uremia has led to pericardial effusion. Is there any possibility of spontaneous recovery in this situation?
Uremic pericardial effusion is absolutely impossible to resolve spontaneously through the body's own physiological functions. Even with current medical treatments, including medications and surgery, the likelihood of a cure remains very low. When kidney disease progresses to the uremic stage, it indicates severe renal failure, in which the kidneys can no longer function adequately to metabolize and eliminate pericardial fluid.
