Myeloma is a malignant tumor of the plasma cell system. When myeloma progresses to a certain stage, it may cause various complications, one of which is acute uremia. The occurrence of uremia is often accompanied by severe impairment of kidney function, which can lead to a series of symptoms including pain, edema, and indigestion.

Pain relief does not necessarily indicate improvement of the condition, especially in cases of myeloma complicated by acute uremia. Pain alleviation may result from therapeutic interventions such as the use of analgesics, chemotherapy drugs to control proliferation of myeloma cells, or temporary improvement of kidney function. This does not mean that the myeloma itself has been cured or that kidney function has been fully restored.

Patients should not judge their condition solely based on pain relief, but should continue to follow the treatment plan prescribed by their physician, undergo regular blood and urine tests, and monitor changes in the number of myeloma cells and indicators of kidney function. Meanwhile, maintaining healthy lifestyle habits, including a balanced diet, moderate exercise, and avoiding infections, can positively influence disease control and prognosis. Patients should also schedule regular follow-up visits to adjust treatment plans promptly in response to any possible progression or recurrence of the disease.
