Why shouldn't people with excessive liver fire drink tea to dissolve stones?
Disease description:
I've recently been experiencing excessive liver fire. When I was drinking tea, my friend reminded me not to do so. Why shouldn't I drink tea when having excessive liver fire?
Patients with excessive liver fire should not drink Pu'er tea to dissolve gallstones, as this type of tea is fermented and tends to induce internal heat. Since patients with excessive liver fire already have an overabundance of internal heat, consuming Pu'er tea may worsen their symptoms. If they wish to drink tea, they should choose types that clear heat and reduce fire, such as green tea, chrysanthemum tea, or cassia seed tea. However, tea consumption should still be moderate to avoid overstimulation and hyperexcitability.
