Symptoms of H1N1 influenza
Disease description:
Hello doctor, many children at my kid's school have recently been infected with H1N1 influenza. However, I'm not entirely clear about the specific symptoms after infection. I'd like to learn more about the symptoms of H1N1 so that, just in case, I can recognize them promptly if my child shows any signs. I also want to take proper preventive measures.
Influenza A usually refers to type A influenza. Type A influenza typically has an abrupt onset, with patients mainly presenting symptoms such as headache, fatigue, loss of appetite, and generalized muscle aches. These are often accompanied by cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore and dry throat, and hoarseness; among these, runny nose and sore/dry throat are often mild or not prominent. Some patients with type A influenza may develop significant gastrointestinal discomfort, commonly manifested as fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and loss of appetite.
