How should a left kidney cyst be treated?
Disease description:
I've been experiencing severe pain in my left lower back for the past few days. I went for a checkup today and found out I have a cyst on my left kidney. How should this condition be treated?
If the left renal cyst is small and does not cause noticeable discomfort, it generally does not require treatment and can be monitored through follow-up visits as advised by a physician. If the cyst enlarges to more than 4 centimeters in diameter or causes compression on surrounding tissues, cyst fluid aspiration may be performed under the guidance of a specialist, and a sclerosing agent can be injected into the cyst for treatment. If the cyst exceeds 10 centimeters in diameter, treatment options such as laparoscopic surgery or renal cyst excision may be considered according to the doctor's recommendation.
