Causes of dry lips in babies

There may be several reasons for a baby's dry lips. 1) External environmental factors such as dry weather, wind, and sun exposure can cause loss of moisture in the lips, leading to dryness. 2) If the baby hasn't drunk enough water for an extended period, dehydration can also result in dry lips. 3) Poor nutrition, or deficiencies in nutrients such as vitamins B2, B6, B12, and iron, may also contribute to lip dryness. Additionally, conditions like cheilitis or allergies can cause symptoms including dryness and peeling of the lips.
