Hepatitis A and hepatitis B are two common types of acute viral hepatitis, both of which may lead to elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) levels. Hepatitis A is an acute viral hepatitis primarily caused by the hepatitis A virus, which can cause liver damage and consequently increase CRP levels. Hepatitis B is an acute viral hepatitis mainly caused by the hepatitis B virus, which can also result in liver injury and lead to elevated CRP levels. Once the disease develops, both hepatitis A and B can cause damage to liver cells, resulting in increased levels of C-reactive protein within hepatocytes.
