My recent physical exam showed an eye pressure of 15. Could you please tell me what the normal range for eye pressure is?

Dr. Jiang Fagang
Intraocular pressure (IOP), also known as eye pressure, normally ranges from 10 to 21 mmHg. A pressure below 10 mmHg is considered low, while a pressure above this range is considered high. However, even if the IOP is below 21 mmHg, it does not necessarily mean that eye pressure is normal, as IOP is only one parameter among many in evaluating eye diseases. Other factors must also be considered for an effective diagnosis. An IOP below 21 mmHg does not completely rule out the possibility of ocular or systemic diseases, and further examinations are needed to determine the underlying cause. If symptoms such as eye pain or vision loss occur, prompt medical attention should be sought for timely diagnosis and treatment.
