Treatment of sandy gallstones in women
Disease description:
Treatment of sandy gallstones in women
The treatment for biliary sludge (muddy gallbladder stones) in women is essentially the same as in men. Management of biliary sludge should be tailored according to the patient's specific condition. Generally, if the condition is mild, medication can be used to improve symptoms; commonly prescribed drugs include chenodeoxycholic acid capsules and ursodeoxycholic acid tablets. If the condition is more severe, surgical intervention may be considered. Common surgical options include laparoscopic minimally invasive cholecystolithotomy (gallbladder-preserving stone removal) and cholecystectomy.
