Can cancer be cured?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve frequently heard that people in our village have died from cancer. This has left me puzzled: What exactly causes cancer? Is it truly incurable?
Hello, cancer is a systemic disease. Whether it can be cured depends on the pathological type, disease stage (particularly whether it is early-stage), and the patient’s overall physical condition. Early-stage carcinoma in situ or localized invasive carcinoma can often be cured, primarily through surgical resection. Postoperatively, adjuvant chemotherapy may be administered to suppress tumor recurrence. If no recurrence occurs within five years after treatment, the patient is considered to have achieved clinical cure. However, if malignancy is diagnosed at an advanced stage with multiple metastases, cure is generally not possible; treatment then focuses on prolonging survival and improving quality of life through pharmacotherapy. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health.
