Dr. Yang Ziqi
Ultrasound findings of gallbladder adenomyosis typically show localized or diffuse thickening of the gallbladder wall, with areas of thickening exhibiting hyperechoic foci. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may also be performed to assist in comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis. Patients with access to advanced facilities are advised to undergo contrast-enhanced ultrasound, particularly after oral administration of a contrast agent, which can clearly delineate the lesion within the gallbladder. In diffuse-type gallbladder adenomyosis, this may appear as punctate shadows. However, patients seeking a definitive diagnosis should not rely solely on ultrasound; additional imaging studies such as CT scans are required for accurate confirmation.
