Causes of pulmonary nodule formation

Pulmonary nodules are a common type of lung lesion, referring to small, focal abnormalities that appear within lung tissue. These nodules can be either benign or malignant. There are many causes for the development of pulmonary nodules, with the most common being lung infections, inflammatory conditions, and lung tumors. Such diseases may lead to abnormal proliferation of lung tissue, resulting in nodule formation. In addition, certain genetic factors may also contribute to the development of pulmonary nodules.
