百日咳是What意思

Pertussis is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by Bordetella pertussis and transmitted through respiratory droplets. Its clinical course can be divided into three stages: the catarrhal stage, the paroxysmal stage, and the convalescent stage. During the catarrhal stage, patients develop symptoms resembling upper respiratory tract infections, such as cough, runny nose, sneezing, low-grade fever, and fatigue. In the paroxysmal stage, patients exhibit the characteristic paroxysmal coughing, which may persist for several weeks and is often accompanied by a distressful facial expression. During the convalescent stage, the paroxysmal cough gradually diminishes and eventually ceases, with complete resolution of coughing.
