What are the sequelae of stroke?
Post-stroke sequelae mainly include the following aspects:
1. Motor dysfunction: Patients may experience muscle atrophy, fat atrophy, and other issues leading to movement disorders such as limb paralysis and difficulty in mobility.
2. Cerebral functional impairment: Stroke may damage functions of specific brain regions, causing abnormalities such as sensory disturbances, pain, hemianopia, dizziness, dysphagia, choking while drinking water, slurred speech, and cognitive impairments.
3. Autonomic nervous system symptoms: These include insomnia, mental disturbances, and urinary or fecal incontinence, which are associated with specific areas of the brain.
4. Emotional and behavioral problems: Patients may exhibit emotional issues such as irritability, anxiety, and depression, as well as cognitive impairments including slowed thinking and memory loss.
