Dr. Zhang Xiuhong

Dapoxetine is a commonly used medication primarily indicated for the treatment of premature ejaculation in men. Premature ejaculation is a common male sexual dysfunction characterized by ejaculation that occurs too early during sexual activity, leading to inability to satisfy both partners' sexual needs. Dapoxetine works by acting on certain neurotransmitters in the brain, increasing the concentration of serotonin in the synaptic cleft, thereby prolonging the ejaculatory latency and improving sexual quality of life. It is suitable for male patients aged 18 to 64 years with premature ejaculation and is generally taken as needed 1 to 3 hours before sexual activity. However, dapoxetine may cause some side effects, such as headache, dizziness, nausea, and diarrhea.

If any discomfort or adverse symptoms occur after taking the medication, medical attention should be sought promptly.
