Disease description:
What does it mean to have excessive liver fire?
Liver fire excess is mainly caused by the following factors:
1. Poor emotional state: Anxiety, depression, or sudden outbursts of anger can lead to impaired flow of liver qi, resulting in stagnation or excessive rising of liver qi, which over time develops into liver fire.
2. Irregular diet: Excessive consumption of greasy and spicy foods, heavy smoking and alcohol intake, combined with insufficient physical activity, inadequate water intake, and poor metabolism and elimination—common issues among modern individuals—can easily lead to accumulation of "dampness" and "heat" in the body, thereby contributing to liver fire.
3. Heat pathogens affecting internal organs: If other organs are invaded by heat pathogens—for example, wind-heat common cold—the heat may spread to the liver or gallbladder channels, triggering excessive liver fire.
4. Underlying diseases: Chronic liver or gallbladder disorders, hypertension, or other disease conditions often lead to deficiency of bodily fluids, particularly liver yin deficiency, which in turn gives rise to excessive liver fire.
