Disease description:

I have several teeth damaged on the upper jaw. I visited a dentist today, and the doctor suggested that after healing, I should get dentures. I don't know much about them—could you tell me, are dentures easy to fall out?

Whether dentures are prone to falling out mainly depends on several factors. The stability of dentures is closely related to the materials selected and the manufacturing techniques used; for example, dentures made with hard materials such as dental amalgam are generally more secure. The design and fit of the dentures are also critical. If the dentures do not fit well with the oral tissues, or if their design is flawed—such as improper tooth alignment or imbalanced occlusion—this may lead to frequent dislodgement. To ensure denture stability, it is recommended to choose appropriate materials and fabrication methods that provide sufficient hardness and wear resistance. Denture design and fitting should be performed under the guidance of a qualified dentist to ensure a high degree of adaptation to oral tissues and correct tooth alignment and occlusal relationships. Regular check-ups and maintenance are essential; if looseness or discomfort occurs, prompt medical attention should be sought for adjustment or repair.
