Differences between the bivalent and quadrivalent HPV vaccines:

1. Different types of viruses prevented: The bivalent vaccine primarily targets two high-risk HPV types, 16 and 18, which are associated with over 70% of cervical cancer cases. In contrast, the quadrivalent vaccine not only protects against HPV types 16 and 18 but also covers two low-risk types, 6 and 11, preventing diseases such as genital warts caused by these viruses.

2. Differences in vaccination schedule: For the bivalent vaccine, after the initial dose, subsequent doses are administered at 1 month and 6 months. For the quadrivalent vaccine, the follow-up doses are given at 2 months and 6 months after the first dose.
