Causes of Hemorrhoids in Women After Childbirth
Disease description:
After giving birth, I noticed some constipation and blood in my stool. The doctor diagnosed it as hemorrhoids. What are the causes of hemorrhoids in women after childbirth?
Reasons why women develop hemorrhoids during childbirth:
1. Increased pelvic pressure: As the uterus gradually enlarges during pregnancy, it compresses the pelvic and abdominal cavities, leading to progressively increased intra-abdominal pressure. This impairs venous return in the inferior vena cava, causing hemorrhoidal veins to dilate, become tortuous, and congested, thereby exacerbating the development of hemorrhoids.
2. Hormonal changes: Fluctuations in hormone levels during pregnancy, particularly increased progesterone, reduce the elasticity of venous walls, making veins more prone to relaxation and dilation, thus increasing susceptibility to hemorrhoids.
3. Changes in lifestyle habits: During pregnancy, physical discomfort and pregnancy-related symptoms may reduce a woman's activity level. Combined with altered dietary habits—such as slowed gastrointestinal motility—constipation can occur, further aggravating the development of hemorrhoids.
The occurrence of hemorrhoids during childbirth in women is multifactorial, closely related to increased pelvic pressure, hormonal changes, and alterations in lifestyle habits.
