Dr. Zhao Xiaodong
The causes of cervical polyps are diverse, primarily including: 1. Inflammatory stimulation: Long-term or recurrent inflammation such as cervicitis and vaginitis may lead to abnormal proliferation of the cervical mucosa, resulting in polyp formation. 2. Endocrine abnormalities: Abnormal secretion of estrogen in women may affect normal growth of the cervical mucosa and increase the risk of polyps. 3. External infections: Conditions in sexual partners, complications during childbirth or surgical procedures such as abortion, and infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) may all contribute to the development of cervical polyps. 4. Unhealthy lifestyle habits: Long-term smoking, irregular sleep patterns, and similar habits may also impair cervical health and increase the likelihood of polyp formation.
