Precursors of retinal detachment
Disease description:
I was hospitalized for treatment due to retinal detachment. I'm very worried but don't quite understand it, so I'd like to consult here: what are the warning signs of retinal detachment?
Precursors of retinal detachment mainly include the following:
1. Decreased vision: Patients may experience gradually declining vision, especially in the central visual field.
2. Visual field defects: Retinal detachment can cause defects in the visual field, commonly manifesting as blurriness in the central vision.
3. Photopsia (flashing lights): Prior to retinal detachment, patients may perceive flashes of light, which result from tears or separation in the retinal pigment epithelium.
4. Shadow or curtain over the visual field: As retinal detachment progresses, patients may notice a dark shadow or curtain obscuring part of their vision, further impairing eyesight.
If any of the above symptoms occur, prompt medical attention is recommended for professional evaluation and treatment.
