There are various methods for treating myopia, and the appropriate approach can be selected based on the severity of myopia and the patient's individual condition. 1. General treatments: These include eye-rolling exercises performed repeatedly 50 times daily to strengthen the ciliary muscle, and warm compresses applied to the eyes to ensure adequate relaxation. 2. Optical correction: Patients with myopia exceeding 200 to 300 degrees that affects normal daily activities or study may wear eyeglasses or orthokeratology lenses. Orthokeratology is suitable for patients with less than 600 degrees of myopia, but the myopic refractive error will return after discontinuing lens use. 3. Surgical treatment: Patients with severe symptoms may opt for surgical interventions such as corneal refractive surgery or implantable collamer lens (ICL) implantation. Additionally, preventing myopia is also crucial, including maintaining proper eye-use posture, avoiding prolonged use of electronic devices, and spending more time on outdoor activities.
