Hazards of phimosis and excessive foreskin in males
Disease description:
I've been feeling intense itching in my penis these past few days, accompanied by a noticeable discharge and severe burning pain. After a hospital examination, I was diagnosed with inflammation, and the doctor mentioned that it's due to having a long foreskin. I would like to know what health risks are associated with having an overly long foreskin in men?

Phimosis can easily lead to bacterial accumulation beneath the foreskin. Prolonged irritation of the glans may cause inflammatory conditions such as balanoposthitis and penile inflammation, and in severe cases, may even trigger prostatitis or pyelonephritis. Phimosis may also hinder normal penile development, resulting in a smaller glans diameter, reduced sexual pleasure, and impaired normal sexual function. Due to phimosis, heightened sensitivity of the glans may contribute to sexual dysfunctions such as premature ejaculation. Additionally, phimosis may damage kidney function, as chronic inflammation can cause urethral stricture, leading to difficulty urinating, which over time may impair renal function.
