A few days ago, I took my child to play in the garden. The flowers were especially beautiful and there were many little bees. Unfortunately, my child was accidentally stung by a bee. I would like to know what illnesses or conditions can be caused by bee stings?

Diseases caused by bee stings mainly include local toxic reactions: after a bee sting, the affected area of skin may become red, swollen, painful, feel hot, and itchy. If the sting occurs in sensitive areas such as the eye or throat, it may impair vision or cause difficulty swallowing. If the stinger is not promptly removed, excessive amounts of toxin in the body may lead to systemic symptoms such as dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, and fever; in severe cases, it may even result in unconsciousness. Some individuals are highly sensitive to bee venom and may develop systemic allergic reactions, including facial and eyelid swelling, hives, asthma-like symptoms, and airway spasms. In serious cases, this may progress to anaphylactic shock. Bee stings may also lead to severe complications such as local infection, shock, kidney failure, and heart failure. Prompt medical attention should be sought after a bee sting to prevent worsening of the condition.
