What illness causes a dry and sore throat, dry mouth, and parched tongue?
Disease description:
Since the day before yesterday, I have been experiencing a dry and painful throat, accompanied by symptoms of dry mouth. I would like to know what illness could be causing these symptoms of a dry, sore throat and dry mouth.

Dryness and pain in the throat, along with a dry mouth and tongue, may be caused by various conditions, primarily including:
1. Upper respiratory tract infection: Caused by cold exposure, bacterial infection, or weakened immunity, upper respiratory tract infections can lead to congestion and swelling of the throat mucosa, resulting in pain and a dry sensation.
2. Chronic pharyngitis: Long-term熬夜 (staying up late), fatigue, or consumption of irritating foods may lead to chronic pharyngitis, characterized by dryness and congestion of the pharyngeal mucosa, increased secretions, and symptoms such as dryness, soreness, and a dry mouth and tongue.
3. Acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis: Poor lifestyle habits or bacterial infections may trigger acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis, causing redness, swelling, and pain in the throat, accompanied by dry mouth and tongue.
Other diseases such as Sjögren's syndrome and diabetes may also cause these symptoms. Patients are advised to seek timely medical attention when experiencing these symptoms to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment.
