Symptoms of common warts on the hands
Disease description:
Today I noticed a pinhead-sized papule on my hand. My husband suspects it might be a common wart. What are the symptoms of common warts on the hands?
Symptoms of common warts on the hands mainly include:
1. Common sites: Common warts frequently occur on areas of the hands such as the fingers and back of the hand, but may also appear on other parts of the body.
2. Appearance: In the early stages, they present as firm, raised papules on the skin surface, typically grayish-yellow, gray-white, yellow-brown, or light yellow in color, with a rough, keratotic surface and hard texture.
3. Number of lesions: Initially, there is often a single wart, but over time the number may increase to several or even dozens. As the condition progresses, the lesions may enlarge and become patchy.
4. Special types: Periungual and subungual warts occur around or under the fingernails or toenails. They present as simple hyperkeratosis; if they spread beneath the nail, they may disrupt nail growth and cause splitting or fissures.
5. Other symptoms: Common warts are generally painless, but in certain situations—such as friction or pressure—they may cause mild pain or discomfort.
The main manifestations of common warts on the hands are small papules on the skin of the hands, with characteristic features in terms of color, texture, and quantity. If you have concerns, please seek medical attention promptly.
